  • Charles E. Hiss, DVM

    Dr. Hiss graduated from Purdue University in 1983 and has practiced in Kokomo since graduation. Dr. Hiss enjoys clinical practice because it allows him to develop relationships with his patients and clients. He is a member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He has been married to his wife, Nancy, since 1981, and they have one daughter, Megan. Hobbies outside of work include family activities, golf, sporting events and spending time with the family pets (2 pugs and 1 cat).

  • Allison Simpson, DVM

    Dr. Allison Simpson received her Doctorate from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in feline medicine and small animal internal medicine and diagnostics. She is a member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Christian Veterinary Mission, Board of Health for Howard County, Wabash Valley Veterinary Association and most recently a member of American Association of Feline Practitioners. Locally, she is a member of Tri Kappa, and also serves as a board member and mentor for Bridges Outreach. In 2012 Dr. Simpson and her husband started a non-profit organization, Fluffy's Friends Foundation, which exists to help preserve the human-animal bond by providing physical, emotional, and financial assistance for animals and people in need. Dr. Simpson and her husband have a dog Nestle (a chocolate Labrador) and three cats. In her spare time she enjoys being outside, training for and competing in triathlons and snowboarding during the winter season.

  • Dr. Byerly

    Carrie Byerly, DVM

    Dr. Byerly received her DVM in 2009 from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Iowa for 5 years before returning to Indiana to practice with us here in Kokomo. She has a special interest in surgery and loves getting to know her patients and clients personally. She has been married to her husband, Nate, for 5 years and they have one daughter, Clara. They are excited to be expecting a son (yet to be named!) in late October. They have one cat, Niko. In her spare time, she enjoys running, gardening, and crafts.

    Nancy Hiss, Hospital Administrator

    Nancy has been overseeing the administrative needs of Pet Care Clinic since 2006. After graduating from Purdue University in 1980, she married Dr. Hiss in 1981. Kokomo has been their home since Dr. Hiss started practicing in 1983. One of the many perks of being in the office is getting to hold the puppies and kittens that come in to see the doctors! She is proud of the clinic's great staff and the quality of service everyone provides to the clients. Nancy enjoys spending time with friends and family and attending athletic events for her daughter, Megan! Her pugs and kitty keep her busy at home; she loves to spoil her pets.

    Amanda, Office Manager

    Amanda has been with the clinic since 2007 and couldn't imagine being anywhere else. She has always worked in customer service but is so happy to have ended up at Pet Care Clinic where she gets to mix together helping people and helping their pets. Amanda believes that the people that make up Pet Care Clinic are the most loyal and compassionate workers she has ever met.  She spends her time away from work with her husband and best friend, Ryan and their son. She also has a cat, Comma, that can do lots of tricks when he isn't eating everything in sight. Things she enjoys are reading and acting silly with her family.

    Tiffany has been employed with Pet Care Clinic since March 2008. She has an Associate Degree as a Veterinary Technician. She enjoys communicating with clients and ensuring their pets get the outstanding care they deserve. Tiffany's hobbies include spending time with family and pets. She also enjoys riding and showing her horse.

  • Tammy, Veterinary Assistant

    Tammy has been a vet assistant for going on 2 decades. She finds it rewarding to care for animals and enjoys seeing the human to animal bond, especially when our clients consider their pets true furry family members.
    Tammy has a daughter and 3 step sons, all of which have "flown the nest". She and her husband, Monty, enjoy riding their Harley, going to festivals, and watching reality TV shows...Oh! and spending time with their pets of course! They have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and an aquarium full of fish.

  • Brianne, Front Desk Team Leader

    Brianne joined our staff in August 2011 and is one of our super friendly receptionists. Although you will see her at our front desk, her journey began as a veterinary assistant back in 2007 while living in East Tennessee. She has a sincere passion for her career that lets her work with animals. When not at work, Brianne enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music of all genres, and attending concerts.

    Erica is one of our student workers that assists us with our afternoon and evening duties. She is a great part-time addition to our team. Her greatest assets are her maturity, willingness to dive into any job given to her, and the way she shows great respect to her working mentors here.

    Julie, Veterinary Assistant

    Julie started working here after graduating from Purdue University in May 2013. Other than loving on all the animals that come into the clinic, including Tater, the clinic cat, her favorite part of the job is working alongside her fellow staff members. She was a communications major and understands the important role communication plays in a positive work environment. She says she feels lucky to have found Pet Care Clinic but someday would like to pursue her passion of working as a marine mammal trainer. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and spoiling her cat, Dutchess.

    Cheyenne will be graduating in May 2014 with a double major in Business Marketing and Business Management. While she decides what to do with her degree, she enjoys working for Pet Care Clinic. Her favorite things here are her co-workers and getting to hold some of the puppies that come in! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies and loving on her dog, Mimzy.

    Kaleb is currently attending Ivy Tech in Kokomo to earn his degree in medical assisting. He enjoys all of his co-workers here at Pet Care Clinic and the fun of meeting all of the animals. Kaleb has owned over 15 animals in his life. In his spare time he likes to be with friends and family, listen to music, and travel.
